FAQs
What’s the difference between copyediting and proofreading? Copyediting focuses on clarity, flow, and style improvements while proofreading catches final typos and formatting issues. Copyediting happens earlier in the process and involves more substantial improvements to your writing.
Will you change my voice or style? Never. My job is to help your authentic voice come through more clearly, not to impose my own style. I preserve your personality while improving clarity and flow.
What if I don’t agree with some of your edits? All edits are suggestions using track changes, so you can accept or reject each one individually. I provide explanations for complex changes, and we can discuss any concerns during the review phase.
Do you work with my existing style guide? Absolutely. Whether you follow Chicago, AP, MLA, Guardian Style Guide, or have your own house style, I’ll work within your preferred guidelines.
How do you handle confidential or sensitive content? All client work is treated with complete confidentiality. I’m happy to sign NDAs when required and understand the personal nature of much writing.
What file formats do you work with? I primarily work in Microsoft Word with track changes, but can accommodate Google Docs or other formats as needed.
